At JDEED, our love for Jacquemus runs deep. And yes, we’ve got alerts on for every cryptic teaser he posts. Because when Simon Porte Jacquemus stages a show, it’s never just about clothes. It’s about the mood, the story, the obsession.

This time, he brought us to L’Orangerie at the Château de Versailles, and instead of the expected pomp and pageantry, he gave us "Le Paysan": a romantic, sun-drenched ode to the rural South of France. Not some idealized Pinterest Provence, but the one in Simon’s childhood memories, complete with family albums, market baskets, and Sunday cotton.

The vibe? Pastoral couture, but make it Jacquemus. Think delicate jupons in voluminous poplin, triangle-cut linens that whisper vintage tablecloth, and sculptural tulle creations spun like whipped cream. The palette was sweet: soft whites, dusty creams, Provence blues and that Jacquemus-signature pop of Berlingot pink. It felt like sugared almonds fell in love with high fashion.

And then came the accessories  because of course, he went there. There were leeks in leather, green bean earrings, and garlic garlands dangling like Provencal bling. Basket bags paneled in slick leather and espadrilles with thick grosgrain ribbons — worn high up the calves — made it clear: Jacquemus, the king of accessorization stays on his throne.

The menswear? A fever dream of Marcel Pagnol meets modern-day muse: cropped jackets, wide-legged pants, and tactile linens with a just-right herringbone. The kind of silhouettes that feel cinematic but wearable, nostalgic but fresh.

More than just another seasonal show, "Le Paysan" felt like a full-circle moment. A poetic homecoming that bridged where Simon came from with where Jacquemus is going — technically sharper, emotionally deeper, and still wildly fun. He even resurrected silhouettes from past collections and remixed them with next-level savoir-faire. Because when you’ve built your own universe, you can remix your past however you want.

It’s no coincidence he chose Versailles. Jacquemus proves again that humble roots and high fashion are not opposites but some kind of soulmates.

And we’re here for every stitched vegetable, every trompe l’oeil tassel, and every dreamy tulle dress he throws our way.
