We’ve been to a lot of brunches in Dubai (IYKYK), and sure; sushi rolls are nice, but how many spicy tuna makis can you really handle before it all feels... the same? Enter Dragonfly , tucked away at The Lana by Dorchester Collection — and suddenly, our taste buds are fully awake and in full transformation mode.

This isn’t a lazy buffet or some “pour your own mimosa” vibe. It’s a chef-led journey, and yes, we’re now brunch snobs because of it. Reif Othman (yes, that Reif) is behind the menu, and it shows. Every plate that hits the table feels intentional, playful, and straight-up delicious. Flavors are bursting in your mouth and plates head back to the kitchen exceptionally clean.

We’re talking black cod donburi with miso butter that should win an award (and if you know Dubai, you know that a miso black cod is the star of many menus but here...it wins), beef tartare with plantain crisps that crunch just right, and desserts that whisper “you deserve this” in salted caramel and matcha tones. The cocktails? Stunning. The playlist? Giving rooftop Tokyo lounge. The view? That dreamy Business Bay skyline glow you low-key missed while doom-scrolling on the Palm.

What we really love? The service is warm, the food is fire, and Dragonfly actually feels like one of the few new spots in Dubai where flavour is the star, not the Insta wall.
