There's something about the way Muzi Sufi gets dressed that makes even the simplest pieces feel like a statement. Sharp shoulders, exaggerated proportions, beautifully tailored trousers and an almost instinctive understanding of how to make a silhouette interesting.
Her wardrobe is largely built around a restrained palette of blacks, browns, greys and whites, but there's nothing predictable about it.
A Pakistani photographer, visual storyteller and content creator based in Dubai, Muzi has developed an aesthetic that feels as considered behind the camera as it does in front of it. Her eye for composition, shape and detail naturally extends to the way she dresses, where masculine tailoring meets feminine touches, and familiar wardrobe staples are constantly reimagined. In January 2025, that vision took on a new dimension with The Urban Muse, a six-piece capsule collection created in collaboration with Wear That. Inspired by the architecture of city landscapes, the collection translated her love of sculptural shoulders, geometric lines and understated colours into pieces designed for everyday wear.
For Muzi, personal style is also something deeply rooted in memory. She has spoken about growing up watching her mother get dressed with care, even for the most ordinary occasions, an early lesson in the quiet confidence that comes from feeling put together.
For our latest edition of The Way She Wears, we step inside Muzi's world to discover the pieces, influences and instincts behind her distinctive approach to getting dressed.
The Way She Wears (TWSW) is our way of spotlighting women whose style feels personal, intuitive and entirely their own. Not trends, not formulas, just a point of view.

Muzi’s ID”: name, origin, profession
Muzi is a nickname my best friend from 6th grade gave me, and it just sort of stuck. I’m a Pakistani photographer and I love to artistically depict pretty much everything, especially fashion or interior related things.
When did you know you’d be working in fashion/ the creative industry?
I started as a photographer in Lahore and fell in love with the space it gave me to express myself. I’d always been drawn to fashion, but getting to shoot so many beautiful clothes up close was really something else. As a photographer, it’s almost like getting a very detailed education on what works on a model and why. We have the most exquisite fabrics and artisans in Pakistan, and I think it inspired me to just continue being in the creative space forever.

Four staples everyone should own?
1. Commando Butter Tank Bodysuit in Coffee - blends in with the body and it's not suffocatingly tight. It's an incredible piece to layer underneath to make something less transparent. I even love wearing it under a blazer so that the fabric shows without distracting from the outfit, giving the look of a low neckline suit but it's still modest.
2. A black everyday long sleeved top. Be careful that it's something that won't lose its shape or start pilling. I think getting something really good quality will ensure you can wear it multiple times a week forever. I have an incredible one from Khaite that's ruched all over with fitted long sleeves, but you can find similar options on revolve.
3. A power blazer. I think it's important that it doesn't step too far into the relaxed work-blazer look. I think a good amount of padded shoulder helps to keep it cool, especially with a bit of a crop. I think The Mannei has done this exceptionally.
4. Jeanssss. But I really do think it's worth investing in that perfect shape. My favourite ones are still the Alaia round denim I got a few years ago. They look so beautiful and the jeans are the whole outfit. I also love Citizens of Humanity for a more relaxed look and feel. If in doubt, go for the darker wash; it works beautifully day and night.
What are the regional brands you love right now?
Ilai Sarai - absolutely stunning pieces. I think it’s an easy line to cross when making a sculptural or theatric piece - you only feel like wearing them a few times. But Saina has perfected the art of making something incredibly impressive to look at that also feels very comfortable to wear, if that makes sense.
House Janolo. This is a phenomenal jewellery brand. So statement and you can’t stop looking at the pieces.
Rebirth.sa is also such a beautiful brand. The designer plays with textures so well it’s the most elevated bohemian style I’ve come across.

Your fashion most special possession?
My wedding dress by Bunto Kazmi.
A piece worth investing in?
Watches & Jewellery always. If it’s a piece of clothing, then get the jacket/blazer. It’s a solid piece to wear with many different outfits, the quality will stand the test of time, and many jacket styles can still accommodate a size change. Size up if you want to, there’s no harm. I really do think the jackets/blazers are forever pieces.
Your current favourite song, book or tv show?
I recently watched When Life Gives You Tangerines. It destroyed me in the most beautiful of ways - it makes you reassess everything you know about how much your parents have tried to do for you.
