This is a big one. H&M has just announced ELIE SAAB as its next designer collaborator, bringing one of Lebanon’s most celebrated fashion houses to a much wider audience with a collection launching this October.
For anyone who grew up in the region watching Elie Saab gowns appear on red carpets, royal weddings and some of fashion’s biggest stages, the collaboration feels particularly special. Saab founded his house in Beirut, first becoming known for his bridal creations before taking Lebanese couture all the way to Paris and becoming one of the first international members of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture.

Today, ELIE SAAB is synonymous with a very particular kind of glamour: intricate embellishment, beautiful fabrics, femininity and, of course, the kind of dresses that require an entrance.
So what happens when that world meets H&M?
The ELIE SAAB H&M collection will span womenswear, menswear and accessories, including footwear, and rather than moving too far away from what the house is known for, the collaboration is leaning straight into it.
Expect embellished gowns, shimmering separates and sharply cut tailoring, with fine lace, gradient sequins and ELIE SAAB monograms appearing throughout.
In other words, this doesn't sound like the moment to play it safe.
“We are thrilled to announce this landmark collaboration with ELIE SAAB,” says Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M Creative Advisor and Head of Design Womenswear. “Mr Saab is a designer we have always respected – the journey from master of bridalwear in Beirut to the centre of Paris fashion is an amazing, rich story and we are so excited to be exploring his world.”

And perhaps most importantly, she promises “a magical, ornate and glamourous collection.” We would expect nothing less.
Just like it has been for Cavalli, Rocha or Versace, there's exciting about seeing a designer so closely associated with haute couture translate that world into clothes that far more people will actually be able to buy.
For Saab, that accessibility seems to be an important part of the collaboration. “This collection is created for all who admire the world of ELIE SAAB, and I hope it will be embraced with the same enthusiasm it was created with,” says Elie Saab, Chairman and Chief Creative Officer.
He describes working with H&M as “a truly collaborative and inspiring process,” adding that the aim was to create “a complete wardrobe that speaks to every moment of a woman's life.”
We’re particularly curious to see how the house's more elaborate codes translate beyond the gowns. The promise of menswear, tailoring, shoes and accessories could make this considerably more interesting than a collection built solely around occasion dressing.

Save the Date
And unlike many global designer collaborations that can be frustratingly difficult to get your hands on in our part of the world, this one is very much coming to the region.
ELIE SAAB H&M launches on October 22, 2026, in select stores across Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar and Egypt, as well as online.
A Lebanese couture house, an H&M designer collaboration and embellished gowns within reach of considerably more wardrobes?
October 22 might require an early alarm.
