The new Al Safa destination combines an in-house roastery, an open bakery and all-day dining in a space designed to make the process behind every cup and loaf part of the experience.

Dubai’s café scene has a new address and Cherry House is not any other coffee shop. Now open in Al Safa, the concept brings together specialty coffee, artisanal baking and all-day dining within one open, design-led space. Founded by Emirati entrepreneur Mohammed Matar Al Koas Al Falasi, the name behind Saddle and Feels, Cherry House has been created around a simple idea: the craft behind what we eat and drink should not stay hidden.

Named after the vivid red fruit surrounding every coffee bean, Cherry House turns preparation into part of the hospitality. Roasting, baking and coffee-making unfold in view of guests, making the rhythm of production as central to the experience as the final result. Deep cherry tones, natural light and an open-plan layout give the venue a warm, contemporary character, while the roastery, bakery and espresso bar remain visible throughout the space.

From Green Bean to Final Cup

At the centre of Cherry House is its fully operational in-house roastery, fitted with a Loring machine known for its precision and cleaner roasting process.

The most visually striking feature, however, is the region’s first overhead belting system, which transports freshly roasted beans across the venue through a network of pipes. Functional and theatrical at once, it turns the movement of coffee into part of the interior experience. The green beans are sourced from producers across Colombia, Ethiopia, Brazil, Indonesia, Costa Rica and Panama. Guided cuppings and coffee tours are also planned, offering guests a closer look at the journey from origin to roast and, eventually, the cup in front of them.

For Al Falasi, Cherry House is the outcome of years spent studying coffee and bakery cultures around the world.

“My vision was always to create a global destination where Emirati hospitality meets world-class coffee and artisanal baking, he says. “Every detail, from the green bean to the final cup, from the grain of wheat to the loaf on the table, is shaped by the same belief in delivering only the best.”

As per the bakery, it follows the same transparent approach. Breads and pastries are shaped, proofed and baked in full view, bringing guests closer to the time and technique behind each item. Cherry House works with certified organic, French-milled wheat, while its sourdough is fermented for up to 48 hours before reaching the table.

That focus on patience carries through the wider menu, which moves from fresh pastries and breakfast plates to nourishing bowls, sandwiches, salads and larger dishes. Specialty coffee sits alongside matcha and seasonal drinks, allowing the venue to transition naturally from an early-morning bakery visit to a longer lunch or slower evening stop.

A Café Designed for Staying

Cherry House describes itself as a destination rather than a stop, and its interior reflects that ambition. Natural materials, generous light and the brand’s signature cherry palette create a space that feels polished without becoming formal. The layout is built around lines of sight, keeping the roastery, bakery and bar visible so that movement, conversation and craftsmanship remain present throughout the visit.

It also speaks to a wider shift in Dubai hospitality, where guests increasingly expect more than a beautiful room or a strong menu. They want to understand the story, sourcing and process behind what they are consuming. Cherry House brings those elements together without separating them into different concepts. Coffee, baking and dining exist side by side, connected by the brand’s four central values: craft, integrity, ritual and gathering.

The result is a venue where the smallest details become part of the appeal: the sound of bread being prepared, the movement of beans overhead and the possibility of watching a morning coffee take shape from beginning to end.
